Tia Thomson

At Visible Hands, Tia leads the cohort selection process, manages the company's internal and external design functions, and spearheads special projects & strategic initiatives across the organization.
Tia Thomson was a Design Fellow at the U.S.
Census Bureau’s Open Innovation Labs, where she facilitated development sprints with technologists to create public-facing digital tools using federal open data.
She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from Northeastern University, where she was a University Scholar and Director of Scout Labs, Northeastern’s social innovation design studio.
At Northeastern, Tia received the school’s most generous undergraduate research award to fund her independent research on democratizing service design frameworks.
She spends her free time reading through her ever-growing library of books, missing the California sun from back home, and defending her love of chihuahuas.
