In 2024, the firm was acquired by Manulife Investment Management Ltd., a subsidiary of Manulife Financial Corp., in Canada from CQS Cayman LP. The firm was founded by Michael Hintze in 1999 as a global multi-strategy asset management firm. CQS offers a range of strategies and bespoke solutions in multi-strategy, convertibles, asset-backed securities, credit, loans, and equities.
