Ms. Valerie J.
Nichols, CFA, is a Director of Investments at Smith & Howard Wealth Management LLC.
She joined Smith & Howard Wealth Management in 2016.
She works with individuals and families to determine investment goals and objectives, quantify risk tolerance, and develop an Investment Policy Statement which will drive portfolio allocation.
As a member of the Investment Policy Committee she participates in monitoring and selecting investment managers and investment strategy for the firm.
Ms. Nichols was employed as a Director of Investments after spending the prior 19 years with SunTrust Bank, most recently as Senior Vice President and Investment Strategist in the Investment Advisory Group.
In her role at SunTrust, she was responsible for individual clients, trusts and foundations.
She spent several years early in her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst credential.
She majored in finance and graduated from Georgia State University with a BBA degree, is a member of Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals and a former Equity and Alternatives Instructor for the CFA Review Course.
