Alain is an Operating Partner in the Investment Team, where he supports CI’s portfolio companies in achieving their impact mission by enabling significant carbon reduction.
Prior to joining CI in 2023, Alain was Chairman and CEO of Kateeva, a venture-backed, global supplier of inkjet equipment to the OLED display industry.
Alain held investment roles for the past two decades at Compass Venture Partner, Crosslink Capital, and Impact Science Ventures, where he focused on materials-enabled technologies for energy, energy efficiency and industrial investing.
Prior to his venture capital career, Alain spent 15 years in the Global Semiconductor Industry, initially at AT&T Bell Laboratories and then at Novellus Systems as its CTO.
Alain holds a Ph.D.
in Solid State Physics, has authored and co-authored more than 30 technical papers, and is a co-inventor on six patents.
Alain is based in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley.
