David Jason Ashton

Mr. David J.
Ashton, CFA, is a Managing Director & Senior Portfolio Manager at Macquarie Investment Management Global Ltd.
As a lead portfolio manager for MFI’s Australian fixed income solutions, he oversees more than $18 billion of asset under management for wholesale and institutional clients.
He has deep expertise in Australian rates and over the years has developed cutting edge strategies to capitalize on opportunities in Australian government and semi-government bond markets.
With his experience and expertise, he contributes to investment strategies across MFI’s cash and fixed income solutions.
He joined Macquarie Investment Management in 2007 after spending six years gaining international experience in London as a portfolio manager.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Banking and Finance) from the University of Canberra.
