Mr. Rea is a Vice President at General Atlantic LLC, a worldwide private equity firm.
Working directly with Partner Peter L.
Bloom, he uses his extensive experience with a wide variety of software technologies to help assess prospective investments, assist chief technology officers of companies in the General Atlantic portfolio, and advise other members of the firm on technology issues.
Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2000, Mr. Rea was a Senior Software Engineer at Ennovate Networks in Boxborough, MA working on next-generation-network technologies.
Previously he was the Technical Director of the Physics 2000 project, an NSF-funded physics simulation and education project out of the University of Colorado.
Mr. Rea’s varied software background includes work in data visualization, user interface design, genetic algorithms, and creation of some of the world’s first digital video editing tools.
Mr. Rea is a graduate of Wesleyan University and received an Ed.M.
from Harvard University.
