Deborah Tate

Deborah Taylor Tate is currently serving as the Chairman of the International Telecommunications Union and the Tennessee Regulatory Authority.
She is also the Vice Chairman of the Multicultural Media, Telecom & Internet Council.
Additionally, she holds positions as an Independent Director at HealthStream, Inc., a Director at Common Sense Media, Inc., the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and the Centerstone Research Institute, Inc. She is also the Vice President of the Leadership Nashville Foundation.
In her former roles, Ms. Tate served as the Chairman-NJOTF at the National Center for State Courts and as the Director of the State & Local Policy Center at Vanderbilt University.
She was also the Executive Director of the Health Services & Development Agency and the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts in North Carolina.
From 2015 to 2022, she served as the Director of the Courts Administrative Office for the State of Tennessee.
She was a Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission from 2006 to 2009.
Additionally, she was a Member of the American Judges Association and worked as an Attorney at the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System.
Ms. Tate completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Tennessee.
