Ken Matheny

Dr. Ken Matheny is Senior Economist at Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.
He joined the firm in 1997.
He has been with Macroeconomic Advisers for nearly two decades, contributing regularly to MA’s forecasts and economic analysis, while monitoring financial markets, the Federal Reserve, and other domestic and international developments.
He contributes to MA’s proprietary forecasting models and software, assists clients in the use of MA’s models and software, conducts research, and makes presentations to clients and other groups on monetary policy, financial markets, and other issues in the economic outlook.
He has been quoted in or appeared in various media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
Prior to joining Macroeconomic Advisers, Dr. Matheny was on the faculty of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he taught courses on macroeconomics, microeconomics, and money and banking.
He is a member of the American Economic Association and the National Association for Business Economics.
He currently serves as president of the Gateway Chapter (St. Louis) of the National Association for Business Economics.
Before receiving his graduate training, he was a commercial banker.
Dr. Matheny was awarded a PhD from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in 1992 and a BA in Economics and German, summa cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984.
