Leeba R. Lessin

Leeba Lessin is executive vice president of WellPoint and president of its affiliated Medicare businesses, which serve more than two million members through Medicare Advantage (MA), Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plans.
She came to WellPoint through its 2011 acquisition of CareMore, a health plan and health care delivery system that provides innovative health care approaches to the complex problems of aging.
CareMore provides care to 76,000 Medicare Advantage members in parts of California, Arizona, Nevada, Virginia and New York.
Before joining CareMore, Ms. Lessin held several executive positions at PacifiCare Health Systems, including President of Northern California Operations and President of Southern California.
Other roles have included President and Chief Executive Officer of Monarch Health Systems, a primary care physician system in California’s central coast, and Principal of Lessin Management Associates, providing strategic consultation services to medical groups and managed care organizations.
Leeba received her BA degree from Westmont College in Santa Barbara and an MBA from the University of Washington.
