Novelis was acquired by ELVAL Holdings SA from Alcan, Inc. on June 18, 2001. Founded in 1933, Novelis works with local authorities in the UK to set up aluminium beverage can collection schemes and offers advice on quality and recycling. The British company recycle approximately 70 billion used beverage cans each year and have been instrumental in developing the infrastructure for aluminium beverage recycling.
