Richard F. Kent

Mr. Kent is the former President and Chairman of the Board of Fore Systems (subsequently Marconi Federal).
As the chief executive of this $250 million business, Mr. Kent expanded sales in all sectors of the federal marketplace including the DOD, Intelligence, and Civilian Agencies.
The Federal business operation produced gross margins of 74%, net margin of 58%, and led the overall company in revenue per person.
Mr. Kent assisted in the sale of Fore to Marconi Communications in 1999 and then led its $600 million business in the Americas, including its Broadband Switching Division.
While overseeing company activities, Mr. Kent held an inside Board of Directors position with the Marconi Federal division.
Mr. Kent began his career as a software engineer at Thomson CGR Medical.
Subsequently, as a Senior Network Consultant with Network Systems Corporation, he contributed to the design and implementation of one of the largest high-speed networks in the world at NSA and separately, was the principal engineer on a major network design effort involving several supercomputers, thousands of workstations, and a variety of high performance networking equipment.
Mr. Kent has an M.B.A.
from Loyola College "Sellinger" School of Business.
He earned a B.S.
in Information Systems Management and a B.S.
in Computer Science, both with High Honors from the University of Maryland.
