Dr. Roy C.
Levitt has been our President and Chief Executive Officer since November 2000.
Prior to that, He had served as our Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since August 1998.
Dr. Levitt was appointed our head of Research and Development and a Director in August 1997.
Prior to joining us on a full-time basis in January 1996, He also served as a consultant to a number of biotechnology companies, including Genaera.
Dr. Levitt served as a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, from 1986 to 1995, in Neurological Surgery from 1995 to 1996 and in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences in the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Hygiene from 1988 to 1996.
Dr. Levitt completed his residency training in internal medicine and anesthesiology and critical care medicine at The John Hopkins Medical Institutions and genetics training at the National Institutes of Health.
He is board certified in anesthesiology and internal medicine.
