Mr. Russel B. Matthews is a Managing Director & Senior Portfolio Manager at RBC Global Asset Management (UK) Ltd. and a Managing Director & Senior Portfolio Manager at BlueBay Asset Management LLP.
He is on the BlueBay fixed income team focusing on emerging markets debt.
Prior to BlueBay, Mr. Matthews worked for a decade as a Senior Fund Manager and Co-Head of Global Alpha (ex U.S.) at a leading asset management firm, where he was responsible for managing multi-currency global fixed income portfolios for retail and institutional clients.
He previously worked as an Investment Communications Manager at another asset management firm.
He started his career in the investment industry in 1999.
Mr. Matthews earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Cape Town in 1996 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Journalism from Rhodes University in 1995.
