Steve Ciesinski is past President of SRI International and other Silicon Valley firms, and is an investor and board member of growth-oriented tech companies.
As founder and managing partner of Vencrest Partners, he is an active investor/advisor to several international VC funds and private companies.
His interests include applying digital tech (AI, blockchain, data science, communications, etc.) to products for business application software, digital health, financial services, and education industries.
He enjoys working with serious, passionate tech-oriented founders with novel business models addressing growing market needs.
Steve was most recently president of SRI International (www.sri.com), formerly the Stanford Research Institute.
SRI creates disruptive technology-based innovations, including Siri, the computer mouse, ultrasound and telerobotic medical devices, HDTV, drugs for cancer and infectious diseases, natural language speech recognition and many others.
He is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Union College as well as the President’s Cabinet at Cal Poly.
He’s also been a board member of public, private and nonprofit organizations, and has served on strategy, compensation, audit, finance and investment, and other board committees.
Steve has been on the faculty at Stanford's Graduate School of Business for 12 years, teaching on entrepreneurship in the MBA and Executive Education programs.
His current focus is on emerging country entrepreneurship.
He is often invited to give speeches, make presentations and moderate panels.
He holds a BSEE and AB from Union College, and an MBA from Stanford University.
