The firm was founded in 1962 as GDN Management Ltd and changed their name to Guardian Capital, Inc. in 1987 and Guardian Capital LP in 2004. They are a subsidiary of Guardian Capital Group Ltd. (TSE: GCG). Guardian Capital provides fee-based investment supervisory services to investment funds (pooled funds and mutual funds), pension and profit sharing plans, charitable organizations, and other Canadian institutional investors. The firm offers similar services to US-based clients.
