The firm's origins can be traced to 1958 as the manager of tax-exempt accounts for First National Bank of Denver. In 1983, the firm became a Registered Investment Advisor, and in 1984, they became Denver Investment Advisors, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the bank. The firm provides investment management services for certain of their investment styles as an advisor and/or sub-advisor to investment companies, including their proprietary family of mutual funds, Westcore Funds. Denver Investment Advisors also provides portfolio management services to third party sponsors of wrap fee programs, including providing model portfolio information on a non-discretionary basis. Denver Investment Advisors maintains the Workplace Equality Index, which is an index of companies that support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality in the workplace. The firm has entered into a licensing agreement for an ETF, Workplace Equality Portfolio (EQLT).
