Alexander Branis

Mr. Alexander Branis, CFA, is a Chairman at Association of Institutional Investors and a Chief Investment Advisor at Prosperity Capital Management Ltd. (Russia).
He is on the Board of Directors at Territorial Generation Co. No.
2 PJSC.
He joined Prosperity Capital Management in early 1997, a few months after the company was founded.
In 2010, he was appointed to act as a Chairman of the Corporate Governance Sub-committee, established by the government to support President Medvedev’s initiative to establish Moscow as a leading global financial center.
PCM also co-founded Russia’s Investor Protection Association and Mr. Branis currently chairs this.
Nowadays, the Association has become a permanent alliance for investors and is controlled, financed and actively managed by them - the only one of its kind in Russia.
Members of the Association are the largest foreign and domestic institutional investors who jointly control over US 20bn invested in the Russian capital market.
Mr. Branis was previously employed as Non-Executive Director by Interregional Distribution Grid Co. of the Centre PJSC.
He also served on the board at Bashkirenergo OAO, Territorial Generation Co. No.
6 JSC and COMSTAR-United TeleSystems OAO.
Mr. Branis has sat on the board of the state power holding company, RAO UES (2002-2003) and prior to that was Vice Chairman of the UES shareholder rights Protection Council.
He was also a member of the Russian State Council's working group for the restructuring of the UES, to advise on the restructuring of the country's electricity market.
He is a CFA Charter Holder and has a Bachelor of Management degree from the Moscow Academy of National Economy.
