They focus on companies with positive earnings and sales of EUR 20-200 million, aiming to increase the investee company's value over the long-term. In addition to providing equity capital, the firm partners with investee management, providing advice and expertise as a majority or minority shareholder. They also provide growth capital in later rounds of financing until the portfolio company is self-financed or ready for an IPO. Gimv-Nederland's investments consist primarily of MBOs which involve expansion financing, ownership succession, business division spin-offs or other changes in shareholder structure. Gimv-NI's investment managers commit some of their personal capital to every investment.
