Cobalt's name refers to the metal's ability to be part of high-quality alloys. Cobalt manages a private equity fund. Their clients are institutions including insurance companies, mutual insurances, pension funds, funds of funds, as well as a few private individuals.

Cathay Innovation SAS is a venture capital firm, a subsidiary of Cathay Capital Private Equity SAS founded in 2015 by Denis Barrier and Ming Po Cai. Cathay Innovation SAS is headquartered in Paris.
