Tohoku Innovation Capital Corp. (TICC) is an independent venture capital firm which was founded in 2003 by Ko Kumagai. Located in Sendai, Japan, the firm assists early-stage venture companies which are led by innovative entrepreneurs. TICC has strong relationships with institutions in the Tohoku District including Tohoku University, the Tohoku Economic Federation and local governments. They launched their first fund, the Tohoku Incubation Fund, in 2004 with Development Bank of Japan, Intelligent Cosmos Research Institute Co., Ltd., Tohoku Electric Power Co., Ltd., Tohoku Economic Federation, three local governments and four regional banks as limited partners.

Cyber Laser, Inc. develops and produces laser and opto-electronic devices. It offers ultra short lasers, including industrial femtosecond lasers, nanosecond laser, CW lasers for precision metrology, lasers for semiconductor device inspection, and other special lasers. The company’s business activities include research on laser technologies, optics design consulting, crystal evaluation, processing evaluation, and prototyping. Cyber Laser was founded by Hitoshi Sekita and Tetsumi Sumiyoshi on February 25, 2000 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
