Headquartered in Edinburgh, the firm was formed following the 2008 merger of Resolution Asset Management and Axial Investment Management. They can trace their origins since 1986. Formerly known as Britannic Asset Management Ltd., RAM can trace their origins back to The Foreman and Staff Mutual Benefit Society, established in 1899, and became an independent asset management firm in 1983. Liontrust Investments Ltd. (LIL) is the asset management subsidiary of Liontrust Asset Management Plc (LSE: LIO) in Great Britain. Formerly known as Alliance Trust Investments Ltd., founded as Alliance Trust Asset Management in 2009, the firm was acquired by Liontrust in 2017 and was renamed Liontrust Investments Ltd. They are headquartered in Edinburgh and manage the Liontrust and Luxcellence funds.
