Mr. Michael W.
Holt, CFA MBA, is President, Chief Executive Officer & Portfolio Manager at Martin & Co., Inc. He joined Martin & Company in March, 2002 as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager.
Mr. Holt was named the firm’s President and CEO in 2019.
As such his responsibilities include involvement in corporate strategy, business development, regulatory compliance and other legal matters and day-to-day management issues.
He also maintains responsibility for fixed income strategy, analysis, and portfolio management, focusing on fixed income accounts and is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the fixed income area.
He is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Martin & Co in March 2002, Mr. Holt was Senior Vice President/Taxable Fixed Income Portfolio Manager and Head of Fixed Income Research for Wachovia Asset Management in Atlanta, Georgia.
His career with Wachovia now Wells Fargo began in 1991, serving as a fixed income portfolio manager in Columbia, South Carolina and in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Previously, he was a fixed income portfolio manager with Third National Bank now SunTrust Bank in Nashville, Tennessee and a fixed income account representative with Morgan Keegan & Company in Memphis, Tennessee.
He also spent two years with Federal Express Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee as a financial analyst.
He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee BS in Business Administration/Economics and MBA in Finance.
He has received the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.
