Peter Havlik

Mr. Peter Havlik is a Senior Research Associate at The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies.
He is a former Deputy Director at The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw).
His main research areas cover the analysis of macroeconomic developments in Russia and other post-Soviet states, foreign trade, competitiveness, EU integration, and EU relations with Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
He coordinated various international research projects and recently co-authored studies exploring ways ‘How to Stabilize the Economy of Ukraine’ and ‘Challenges of DCFTAs: How can Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine succeed?’ Mr. Havlik also worked as a consultant to OECD, The World Bank, and EU TACIS as the Chief Economist at Moscow's Russian-European Center for Economic Policy (RECEP) in Moscow.
He also worked as a Guest Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) during 2013-2018.
