Aquila follows both active and passive investment approaches. The firm manages portfolios invested in equity, fixed-income and derivatives. They also invest in alternative asset classes. At the core of Aquila's investment strategy is a flexible asset allocation process which is based on fundamental macroeconomic research. They divide portfolios in two parts: an income portion composed of investment-grade fixed-income securities, and a growth portion comprising equity spread across a large number of investment themes.
