The firm was founded in 2013 as the result of a merger between Scott & Stringfellow LLC firm and Clearview Correspondent Services LLC. Effective upon the merger, Clearview changed its name to BB&T Securities LLC and began conducting business as BB&T Scott & Stringfellow and BB&T Capital Markets, both divisions of BB&T Securities LLC. They are a wholly-owned, non-bank subsidiary of Truist Financial Corp. (NYSE: TFC).
