Yasuaki Hashizume

Mr. Yasuaki Hashizume is Chief Investment Officer at IDERA Capital Management Ltd.
From 1999 until 2003, he carried out many real estate deals at the real estate investment unit of GMAC Commercial Mortgage Japan K.K.(“GMACCM”).
He led the acquisition group there to pursue billion dollar scale transactions of various types on a bidding and directly negotiated basis.
Acquisitions included office, apartment, hotel and retail properties as well as real estate companies.
He was also involved in the acquisition of the business of NAM (Nippon Asset Management, formerly Japan Leasing Corp.
) to which GMACCM became a sponsor in 1999.
For this transaction his main role was to acquire more than 100 real estate assets worth in excess of US$ 600 million.
In addition to acquisitions, he led the disposal of major assets including land, residential properties, a hotel and warehouses with total proceeds of more than US$300 million.
Most of the assets he acquired have been fully exited, generating over US$ 240 million of capital gains with a blended 35% unleveraged IRR achieved within a four years holding period.
Mr. Hashizume was a visiting scholar for business and real estate investment at the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics and the HAAS School of Business, University of California, Berkeley in 1989-1990.
He obtained a B.A.
Law degree from Kanazawa University in 1985.
He is a Licensed Real Estate Appraiser in Japan and also holds a real estate broker license.
He commands real estate software, DYNA and Argus.
