David Waserstein

David Waserstein is the founder and Managing Partner of SOIL Funds.
He launched the firm to capitalize on inefficiencies he saw in the capital markets within the arena of sustainable investing.
It is the culmination of two decades of principal investing experience – the last nine of which have been focused on sustainability, renewable energy, and resource efficiency.
Mr Waserstein was previously a Managing Director at Enclave Capital, LLC where he led the formation of an advisory group specifically targeted at renewable energy, private capital, and emerging markets.
Enclave Capital has an affiliate network in 22 EM countries around the world including China, India, Turkey, Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa.
Prior to Enclave, Mr Waserstein was the Director of Investments and a Partner at I2BF Global Ventures – an international asset management firm focused on venture capital and private equity in energy and technology with $400M in AUM.
While there he led investments in solar, wind, energy storage, energy efficiency, and bio-based chemicals.
Earlier in his career, he held positions at Hudson Clean Energy Partners and Anvanta Systems and is the founder of High Water Mark Advisors, LLC.
At various times, Mr Waserstein has occupied positions on the boards at Nordic Windpower, Prism Solar Technologies, Solix Biosystems, Scifinti, and Primus Power.
He is currently a member of the Investor Advisory Board at NREL and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School as well as a BA from Tufts University.
