Fred H.
Gage was the founder of StemCells, Inc. (1988) and BrainCells, Inc. (2003), where he held the title of Director.
He currently holds positions as Director at the Association For The Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Society For Neuroscience, The International Society for Stem Cell Research, BioTuring, Inc., and Scientific Advisor at Hatteras Venture Partners.
He is also a Professor at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies and a Member of the National Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Gage received his doctorate degree from The Johns Hopkins University.

The International Society for Stem Cell Research The International Society for Stem Cell Research The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing stem cell science and its applications to human health. The non-profit company is based in Deerfield, IL. It represents nearly 5,000 members from over 80 countries, including scientists, educators, ethicists, clinicians, and business leaders. The society supports workforce development by engaging early career scientists and trainees, fosters collaboration through a directory of stem cell societies and institutes, and conducts advocacy and policy efforts to provide scientific input to regulatory agencies and combat unproven stem cell therapies. ISSCR emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion, and offers resources for researchers, clinicians, educators, patients, and policymakers. The organization facilitates access to funding opportunities, supports continuing education, and promotes public and patient education.
