Robert C. Olsen

Mr. Olsen has sixteen years experience in merchant banking, corporate finance and lending to medium-sized companies.
After working as a lending officer with the Bank of Montreal from 1980-1983, Mr. Olsen completed two university degrees and then joined the Royal Bank of Canada in 1988, where he continued his career in commercial and corporate lending, before joining the corporate finance department of the Bank.
In 1990, Mr. Olsen accepted a senior position with Canadian Corporate Funding Limited and became Managing Director of CCFL Mezzanine Partners in 1994 and Co-President in 1999.
Mr. Olsen holds an economics degree from the University of Manitoba and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
He is a frequent guest speaker at conferences on corporate finance and merchant banking and sits as an observer or director on the Board of Directors of ALFresh Juice (Canada) Ltd., Coretec Inc., Destination Products International, Ltd., Gemini Foods (1989) Corporation, The John Forsyth Shirt Company Ltd., Vilo Systems Inc., and ZCL Composites Inc. Additionally, Mr. Olsen sits on the Board of Governors of the Shaw Festival, is Chairman of the Shaw's highly successful black tie Boxing Fundraiser held in April of each year and sits on the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board for the University of Western Ontario's Ivey School of Business.
In his early 20's, Mr. Olsen was a member of Canada's national boxing team and successfully represented Canada in several international boxing tournaments throughout the world.
