Shane Timmons

Dr. Shane Timmons is a Senior Research Officer at The Economic & Social Research Institute.
He joined the ESRI in October 2017.
With a background in psychology, he is interested in the factors that impact judgement and decision-making in a range of domains.
He is currently working with the behavioral economics team to apply behavioral science to policy development and implementation.
Prior to joining the ESRI, Dr. Timmons taught modules in statistics and research skills at TCD, DCU and American College Dublin and helped to organize TCD’s School of Psychology International Research Seminar Series.
Dr. Timmons' PhD research, which was conducted with the Reasoning and Imagination Lab in Trinity College Dublin, took an experimental approach to examine the cognitive processes that underlie the moral judgments that people make.
He also holds a BA in Psychology and PG Cert in Statistics, both from TCD.
