The American College of Emergency Physicians Kentucky is a professional organization representing emergency physicians, residents, and medical students. The chapter addresses challenges in emergency medicine such as staffing shortages, patient boarding, reimbursement, and regulatory issues, and engages in legislative initiatives including support for the state trauma system, monitoring allied health professionals' scope of practice, preserving Medicaid funding, promoting EMTALA-based medical liability reforms, and developing expert witness qualification legislation.
