From 1985 to 1990, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer for Pay N Pack Stores, Inc. From 1979 to 1985, he served as Audit Partner with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young).
From 1975 to 1979, he was Vice President and Corporate Controller of Coca Cola Bottling Company of Los Angeles.
Between 1965 and 1975, Mr. Southern was an auditor with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young).
