Mr. James M.
Murphy, CFA MBA, is a Head of Municipal Team at T.
Rowe Price Associates, Inc. He is president of the State Tax-Free and Summit Municipal Funds, president and chairman of the Investment Advisory Committees of the Tax-Free High Yield and Intermediate Tax-Free High Yield Funds, and a vice president and an Investment Advisory Committee member of the Tax-Free Income and Tax-Free Short-Intermediate Funds.
He also is an Investment Advisory Committee member of the New Jersey and New York Tax-Free Bond Funds and the Summit Municipal Income and Summit Municipal Intermediate Funds.
He is a member of the Fixed Income Steering Committee.
He is a trustee and treasurer for the T.
Rowe Price Foundation and a vice president of T.
Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T.
Rowe Price Associates, Inc. His investment experience began in 1993, and he has been with T.
Rowe Price since 2000, beginning as a portfolio manager in the Fixed Income Municipal department.
In 2021, he assumed his current role.
Prior to this, he was employed by Prudential Investments as a portfolio manager.
He earned a B.S.
in finance from the University of Delaware and an M.B.A.
in finance from Seton Hall University.
