Before joining Burgundy in July 2007, Mr. Tan was an analyst at Southeastern Asset Management in Tokyo.
Prior to that, he held various institutional sales positions focusing on Japanese equities with JP Morgan Chase & Co. in Tokyo and New York, and with Nikko Salomon Smith Barney Limited in Toronto.
Mr. Tan also held institutional sales positions focusing on Japanese and Asian equities with Nomura in Toronto.
Mr. Tan has a MBA (Finance) from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science (Applied Math) from York University.
He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1993.
