Advent Capital Management LLC (Advent) is a privately-owned, SEC-registered investment advisor headquartered in New York City. The firm was founded by Tracy V. Maitland in 1995 as a division of Utendahl Capital Management LP and became independent in 2001. They manage assets across several traditional and alternative strategies on behalf of both institutional investors and private clients. Advent is a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) and supporter of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

In 1915 Charles Edward Merrill founded Merrill Lynch & Co. (NYSE: MER) with Edmund C. Lynch in Baltimore, Maryland. The modern Merrill Lynch was formed in 1940 through mergers with E.A. Cowen & Co. LLC is a SEC-registered broker/dealer headquartered in New York City. The firm was founded in 2004 and is a subsidiary of Cowen Holdings, Inc., ultimately owned by The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TSE: TD) in Canada. Cowen & Co. offers industry-focused investment banking for growth-oriented companies, domain knowledge-driven research and a sales and trading platform for institutional investors.
