Rizaan Samuels

Mr. Rizaan Samuels is an Investment Associate at Mergence Investment Managers (Pty) Ltd. He joined Mergence Investment Managers as Investment Associate in September 2022.
He is a trained investment professional with extensive post-qualification experience in investment banking, asset management, and renewable energy debt investment.
He is responsible for the origination and execution of deals in the SADC region for Mergence’s Equity and Debt funds, with a focus on infrastructure finance, renewable energy, and other clean energy investment opportunities.
His work experience includes working progressively through Investec Bank Limited on their Chartered Accountant (CA) program in various roles including Financial and management accounting roles, Internal Audit Analyst, Private Capital Analyst, and Group Investor Relations Analyst.
After completing his CA articles, he spent over three years as a Leverage Finance Transactor in the Corporate and Institutional Banking division at Investec Bank Limited structuring deals in the mid-market private sector.
He then moved into asset management and worked as a Private Equity and Private Credit Analyst at Futuregrowth; followed by the role of Senior Investment Associate at Nedbank Limited.
He received his BSc (Finance & Accounts) and PGDip (Accounting) from University of Cape Town.
