Stephen L.
Hammerman has been a Director of American International Group, Inc. since 2005.
Previously, he was Deputy Commissioner of Legal Matters for the New York City Police Department from 2002 to 2004 and Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. from 1978 to 2002.
Mr. Hammerman was a Director of Remington Arms Co., Inc. He served as a Director of the New York Stock Exchange, Chairman of the National Association of Securities Dealers, a Director of the Securities Investors Protection Corporation, New York Regional Administrator for the Securities and Exchange Commission and an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Hammerman received an undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Law degree from the New York University School of Law.
