FIL FM's investment philosophy is the same as Fidelity's global approach, which is based on bottom-up stockpicking and focuses on fundamental research. Research is the backbone of their investment process and the firm has a team of analysts in Mumbai to cover the Indian stock market, assisted by Fidelity's global team of analysts. To assess investment opportunities FIL FM concentrates on the strengths and fundamentals of companies, their industry sectors and the countries or markets in which they do business. Each investment is hand-picked and backed by Fidelity's global research capability as well as by a company visit. The firm manages portfolios invested in equity, fixed-income and money-market instruments, across sectors and market caps, with the bulk of investments in Indian securities. Among others, they manage a fund focused on special situations and an international opportunities fund focused on the Asia Pacific region including India. As a fixed-income manager FIL FM invests in corporate bonds, government bonds, and other fixed-income securities.

L&T IM is a conservative, active investor which manages portfolios invested across market caps in equity, fixed-income and money market instruments. The firm offers a range of diversified and sector specific equity funds, debt funds, asset allocation funds and monthly income funds. Their equity investment strategy follows a bottom-up stock picking approach based on fundamental analysis, tempered by top-down macroeconomic analysis to control risk through diversification. They invest in both value and growth stocks with a medium- to long-term outlook. Their fundamental research process emphasizes an enduring business model, management quality, business fundamentals and valuation.
