Rama Rao Palle is currently the Chairman-Governing Council at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy.
He previously served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Centum Electronics Ltd. from 2011 to 2014.
He was also the Director of Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory.
In addition, he served as a Professor at Banaras Hindu University from 1975 to 1982 and as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad from 1999 to 2002.
He was a Member of the Atomic Energy Commission in 2004 and served as the Secretary of the India Department of Science & Technology in 1995.
Palle received his graduate degree from the University of Madras and Andhra University, and his doctorate from Banaras Hindu University in 1964.
